Sunset+Vine secures America’s Cup TV news contract

Sunset+Vine TV News, a business unit of Sunset+Vine, has been awarded the TV news production and distribution contract for the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Fukuoka and the 35th America’s Cup, taking place in Bermuda 2017. The contract, managed by a team with extensive international and specific sailing industry experience, will be led by Sabina Mollart Rogerson, head of news.

Sunset+Vine TV News has territory and language distribution managers in all of the America’s Cup key markets, including North America, the UK, Japan, France, Scandinavia, Germany, Australasia, South America, China, Spain and Italy.  As part of the deliverables, the team will be on the ground Fukuoka, Japan, between 17-20 November 2016, delivering the news production and distribution service for the final event of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series.

First contested in 1851, the America’s Cup is the oldest trophy in international sport, predating the modern Olympic Games by 45 years, and is yachting’s biggest prize. The blue ribbon event will be hosted in Bermuda during May and June 2017.

Sabina Mollart Rogerson, head of news at Sunset+Vine TV News, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by the America’s Cup Event Authority to provide the news production and distribution service requirements for this most prestigious and famous international sporting event.

“Our team has a deep knowledge and passion for the America’s Cup, as well as unmatched experience in delivering an impactful and effective news service. Add to this our international network of news contacts – and we are in an extremely strong position to deliver major value to the event, the competing teams and their stakeholders.”

Dan Barnett, chief commercial officer of the America’s Cup Event Authority (ACEA), the organising body for the 35th America’s Cup, added: “The news component of the America’s Cup plays a vital role, not only in keeping sporting fans up to date with the latest developments in the 35th America’s Cup but also is enabling us to reach an ever-growing global audience with content delivered in their own languages. I am delighted that we have appointed such a well-connected and dedicated team on our news project for the 35th America’s Cup.”
