Cisco Focuses on IP, Virtualized Video, Security

Cisco (Booth N802) is highlighting the latest generation of its all-IP virtualized video and security solutions to help media and entertainment companies get new services and features to market faster, protect themselves from attack, and reduce costs.

The company is also sharing several news updates at the show.

Globo Automates With Videoscape
Cisco is helping Globo, leading free-to-air TV broadcaster in Brazil and one of the largest content producers worldwide, to reduce the cost and complexity of managing video workflows. Using virtualized video processing (V2P) and content-management technologies from the Cisco Videoscape portfolio, Globo is automating management and delivery of dozens of forms of video, media content, and metadata from a centralized network architecture to various Globo properties and new-media content partners.

New Independent Software Vendors
Cisco is working with a full lineup of new independent software vendors, certified on Cisco hardware, to help customers virtualize their media-network operations. New vendors include Adobe Systems, Elemental Technologies, Grass Valley (showcased in a joint demo of a remote IP workflow at NAB 2015), Harmonic, Imagine Communications, Interra Systems, Signiant, and Snell.

MLBAM Turns to Virtualized Encoding
Major League Baseball Advanced Media (which powers more live video than any other sports property) is using Cisco AnyRes Live encoders for adaptive-bitrate streaming to help support more than 350 individual, live channels of H.264 compressed video to multiple CDNs.
