EEG To Debut Courier and Scribe
EEG, the Emmy Award-winning innovators in closed captioning, have announced that Courier and Scribe will debut at the upcoming 2015 NAB Show. Together, these advanced tools represent a powerful new solution for efficient and secure post production or near-to-air closed caption creation.
EEG’s Courier is a secure, cloud-driven, workflow manager for exchanging media proxies for closed captioning – complete with built in transcoding, fast file transfers, full content protection, and automatic progress notifications that users can control remotely.
Users access Courier through an easy-to-use desktop app, which performs fast, automatic, transcoding of large HD master assets to lower-resolution captioning proxies, and securely uploads the watermarked files to storage on EEG’s iCap Cloud for profile-driven job delivery to colleagues or commercial caption service providers. Flexible cloud-driven user account management makes workflow control and job assignment seamless, while keeping it simple to limit and track access to valuable media asset proxies.
Scribe is a new standalone professional caption editing tool. It is the first tool to provide full secure integration with Courier, enabling transcribers and editors to stream content only as a non-transferable proxy from the cloud. With Scribe, captioners can rapidly create a complete timed transcription from a Courier proxy or other media asset, and upload it for instant delivery to a registered client with a single click. The originating facility can then inspect, approve, and download the project, all from a Web browser, or for near-to-air projects, download the completed caption file automatically for faster-than-real-time stitching back to a local high-resolution master asset that never left the facility.
Scribe/Courier is fully compatible with iCap, EEG’s award-winning Secure Realtime Captioning System. The result is a completely integrated solution for editing and repurposing of live captioned programming and clips, one which makes the captioning process far more efficient and secure for a wide range of post production facilities, near-to-air content creators, and Web video editors.

The presentation will serve as an essential update to broadcast and post production professionals seeking expert guidance on compliance with the FCC’s latest requirements for closed caption quality.
