One Connxt Extends Broadcast-Video–Delivery Deal With Arab Radio and Television

One Connxt (Booth SU10725) has extended its broadcast-video–transport agreement with Arab Radio and Television (ART). The extension follows the conclusion of the initial three-year agreement originally signed in 2012.

As with the original agreement, One Connxt will provide bidirectional transport services and 24/7 monitoring of ART’s high-quality broadcast-video programing originated between MISC Media Center in Cairo and media centers in Amman, Jordan, and Avezzano, Italy. Each year, One Connxt delivers nearly 1,000 hours of regularly scheduled content, including weekly programs and, during Ramadan season, 240 hours of special daily programming. The Ramadan holiday is a high viewing period when families gather to watch the new program offerings.

“We value our important relationship with ART and are pleased to continue being of service in their video-transport operations in the Middle East,” says, One Connxt CEO Dave Almstead. “ART has long been known as a pioneer of media in the region. We are committed to supporting ART’s efforts.”

Says Aref Dadan, ART Booking Department Manager in Amman, “We used One Connxt as the main method to send material between broadcast centers in Italy, Jordan, and Egypt, all of which are mission-critical in our in efforts to best serve our loyal viewers. The system has performed well and we depend on it to move hundreds of hours of content.”
