Panasonic Presentations To Cover VariCam 35, Remote Production, Wireless-Camera Workflows

Panasonic (Booth C3607) has announced a schedule of presentations running Monday-Wednesday, April 13-15.

At 11 a.m. daily, Michael Cioni, CEO of digital production company Light Iron, will discuss the production and postproduction advantages of the newest Version 3 firmware of the VariCam 35 4K camera/recorder for UHD productions. Examples of the Version 3 firmware will include a new 4K wireless workflow, new LUT and CDL performance, and the ability to quadruple-record in 4K, 2K, and 1K.

At 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily, Director of Photography Matthew Siegel will provide an overview of shooting with the VariCam 35, including his experience shooting the film Thanatophobia with the camera.

At 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily, Panasonic will cover the benefits of shooting and streaming wirelessly with its AVC-ULTRA AJ-PX270, AJ-PX800 and AJ-PX5000G camcorders.

At 10 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Panasonic will discuss developments in IP and remote video production using Panasonic professional camcorders and camera systems.

At 10:30 a.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. daily, Panasonic will showcase AVC-ULTRA compression for today’s network workflows, detailing the benefits of the company’s dynamic adaptive QoS technology for video streaming and introducing a new cloud-based news-production system that leverages the network features of AVC-ULTRA camcorders.

On Tuesday at 2 p.m., a panel of AJ-PX270 users will highlight the power and versatility of the 5-lb. AVC-ULTRA camcorder. Users participating include Patrick Brennan of PBC Media, Luke Livingston of Ground Floor, and Bernie Mitchell of Silver Platter Productions.

Panasonic will also host in-depth, attendee-focused product and workflow demonstrations throughout its NAB exhibit.
