Vizrt To Demonstrate 4K Graphics, Video Playout

At NAB (Booth SL2417), Vizrt, a leading provider of production tools for the digital media industry, will demonstrate advanced tools to help broadcasters increase graphics and video productivity, enhance live sports coverage, and streamline production workflows. Among highlights will be demonstrations of Viz Opus, Viz Engine, Viz Arena, Viz Libero, Viz One, Viz Virtual Studio, and more.

Studio automation
Viz Opus offers broadcasters a quickly deployable, easy-to-use, fully integrated, and compact control room in one system. It combines high-quality video and graphics composited by Viz Engine, the Viz Mosart automation system, and an audio mixer, all integrated to work seamlessly together. A full control room will be demonstrated including robotics at NAB 2015, to display the capabilities of Viz Opus and the Viz Mosart studio automation system.

Live video playout and graphics production in HD, 4K, SDI, and IP
The latest version of Viz Engine, Vizrt’s real-time compositing engine, serves live video, clips, and real-time graphics to eight output channels from a single system in HD, 4K, SDI, and as IP streams. The multiple channels can be controlled together or individually. This and other capabilities will be demonstrated at NAB 2015, including Viz Engine running as a stand-alone video server, part of a SAN solution, driving a video wall, and part of a complete graphics and video workflow.

Image-based tracking and sports analysis
At NAB, Vizrt will present image-based tracking technology as part of Viz Arena. Viz Arena enables broadcasters to apply tied-to-field graphics without the need of mechanical tracking heads, whether at the stadium or downstream in the studio using only a single satellite feed. Vizrt’s EVP Sports, Dr. Stephan Würmlin Stadler, will also present the technology during the Broadcast Engineering Conference on Wednesday, April 15th, 4:00pm – 4:30pm.

NAB 2015 will be the premiere of the tight integration between Viz Engine and Viz Libero, giving users a high degree of design flexibility for tracking markers, player highlights, and other analysis features. The integration of Viz Arena with Viz Engine allows for easy switching between image-based tracking with Viz Arena and hardware-based camera tracking systems from third-party providers.

A complete 4K workflow for graphics and video
Viz Engine renders real-time 4K graphics and is fully integrated with newsroom, sports, weather, and promotions workflows. Viz One, the fastest and most scalable media asset management (MAM) system available, is 4K-ready, providing an important tool for broadcasters to manage and distribute high-quality 4K video content. Vizrt’s sports tools, Viz Libero and Viz Arena also provide 4K video and graphics analysis for a range of sports.

Controlling every screen in the studio
Viz Multiplay will make its NAB premiere showing how to control video and graphics content on a video wall and on multiple studio screens. Viz Multiplay allows broadcasters to have configuration freedom for filling screen content with an intuitive screen design tool and an easy to use touchscreen interface.

A one-box system for severe weather alerts
New to NAB will be the Viz Weather Alerts one-box solution, a cost-effective severe weather alert system that manages and controls the display of watches and warnings, overlays maps with satellite and radar imagery, integrates traffic data, and creates easy communication between the broadcaster and viewers with integrated social media curation and distribution. All this is done from a single intuitive user interface with no monthly data fees.

Graphics and video virtually everywhere
Virtual graphics and augmented reality graphics with video will be featured in several places on the Vizrt booth. The Vizrt public show will feature the latest capabilities of Viz Virtual Studio including immersive and interactive graphics. 4K cameras and tracking systems will provide immersive graphics and video that will be displayed at the Vizrt booth throughout the show.

Interactive news and sports
Vizrt will feature a new package for broadcasters to easily create interactive news and sports presentations using a series of templates available in Viz Trio, Vizrt’s character generator, or through MOS using Viz Pilot. The journalist simply builds a playlist of content using the templates and then goes live on-air driving the pace of the story with an interactive screen.

Promotions and channel branding
The production of channel promotions can be speeded up with Vizrt´s complete workflow for promotions task management, templated graphics, promo versioning, and real-time playout of promotions video and graphics. Promotions projects, clip versions and metadata can be managed with Viz One, which is fully integrated with the Adobe suites of products, among others, as well as Viz Multichannel for playlist management, rules and promotions triggering. Record and store the aired graphics into Viz One for multiplatform distribution.

Engage the audience with Social TV
The Social TV solution is now available in a one-box solution including an interactive, customizable graphics package that can be quickly integrated into any broadcaster’s workflow. Other new features on display include geo-located analytics from any source for heat-map visualizations and the ability to trigger content directly to air using Social TV’s Feed Streamer component.

Traffic reports and maps
Help guide an audience through the morning traffic with the new traffic tools in Viz World, Vizrt’s real-time 3D map system. Traffic data from an integrated data provider, places incidents and traffic flow information automatically on the map and continuously updates with the latest information. When combined with streaming traffic and weather cameras, Viz World gives broadcasters a tool for producing informative breaking news on-air content easily.
