IMG sets sights on growing Turkish market with new venture

IMG Worldwide has launched a joint venture with Turkish private-sector conglomerate Doğuş Group to develop a broad range of sports projects across Turkey and the Turkic Republics. The tie-up comes as Turkey looks to establish itself as a major player in the sporting world, as evidenced by Istanbul’s bid for the 2020 Olympics and the national ambition to host the UEFA European Championship in the same year. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are among the other countries that stand to benefit from the initiative.
