In conjunction with Broadcast RF and Helicopter Film Services (HFS), Aerial Camera Systems (ACS) has successfully tested and completed the first live 4K helicopter aerial shoot over London.
Using an AS355 Twin Engine Helicopter fitted with a Shotover Stabilised Camera Mount and Sony F55 Camera, ACS’ award-winning aerial cameraman, Dave Manton, was able to send back live 4K aerial images using Broadcast RF’s newly developed 4K RF system.
The Ultra High definition video feed was transmitted to the ground over the same channel bandwidth as an ordinary HD radio camera.
Speaking on completion of the test, ACS sales director Matt Coyde commented: “We’ve been keen to find a solution for live 4K aerial filming for some time now and to have been able to achieve such great results is really encouraging for future projects. We’re confident this will be of interest to a number of our clients who have expressed interest in shooting 4K live aerials for some time.”
