Alibaba renews its Gold sponsorship of SVG Europe

Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, has returned as a Gold sponsor of SVG Europe.

The company’s technologies are currently supporting the first Asian Games on the cloud, where it expects to transmit more than 5,000 hours of live footage through as many as 68 high-definition and ultra-high-definition feeds during the event. In addition to live broadcast, Alibaba Cloud’s cloud-based content platform delivers footage in HD or UHD, highlights of the Games and news flashes for RHBs to present to the audience’s mobile or other devices.

The company is also active in the field of esports, with its AI-driven sustainability solution Energy Expert being trialled to measure and analyse carbon emissions from temporary construction built to host the first Olympic Esports Week in June. Energy Expert generated data-driven insights on the choice of materials and equipment and was Alibaba’s first large-scale international project to tackle carbon emissions within the esports industry. The tool was deployed through Alibaba Cloud’s partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
