BVE 2018: Aperi ready with IP processing and remote production tech

Aperi is set to present several technology demonstrations on the IABM Pavilion at BVE in London, including its latest live sports remote production platform, an IP multiviewer and its unique software function app store for real time media processing.

During its first BVE show since opening its London office, Aperi’s local team will speak to visitors about how implementing new native-IP technologies allows them to continue the transition from hardware-focused SDI technology to building new, more effective IP and software-based infrastructures for live media production, processing and distribution.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see demonstrations of live remote production which mirrors a real-world network deployment that connects up to 30 sports venues to two central production hubs. The network uses Aperi’s unique software-based real time virtualisation stack, V-Stack, to enable faster, more flexible production while reducing overall operating costs.

Aperi’s latest multiviewer app will also be on display, allowing users to monitor hundreds of IP inputs and create five fully-independent outputs in several signals; IP, SDI or HDMI in a single rack unit. The app, like all those available from the Aperi app store, is a virtualised function which can be added to a software-based production infrastructure and used with a floating license, negating redundancy and expense when equipment or functionality is not needed.

With security hugely important within IP delivery, the company will showcase the latest in its IP security solutions including real-time network address translation, RTP packet and media inspection and firewalling, as well as new fail-over technologies.
