Appear returns as a Gold sponsor of SVG Europe

Appear, a provider of media processing and delivery technology, has renewed its Gold sponsorship of SVG Europe.

Founded in 2004 by 11 former Tandberg Television employees, Appear now has 200 employees and customers in over 100 countries.

Highlights for the company in the past 12 months include being part of BT Sport’s first live 8K sports event. Appear provided 8K contribution encoders and decoders, integrated into the Vena network, working alongside Synamedia who provided the 8K distribution/streaming encoder and origin server during the Saracens v Bristol Bears Gallagher Premiership Rugby match.

The company also announced a global alliance with Grass Valley, which adds the power of Appear’s X Platform to the Grass Valley Media Universe. This will give Grass Valley customers a complete solution for high-quality, low latency, broadcast contribution, distribution, DSNG, cloud-based live production, and real-time viewing of video feeds. Under the terms of the agreement, Grass Valley will integrate Appear products, including the X10 and X20 platforms, with its open standards NMOS and Orbit Orchestration control platforms.
