Ateme announces series of interactive sessions to help support customers

To understand the needs of its customers and to provide support as the world locks down, Ateme has announced it is kicking off a series of interactive web sessions during which its experts will deliver tailored communication on various key topics, as well as discussing its latest solutions and innovations.

During this challenging period, Ateme will also be offering free software video transcoding licenses for 90 days for any new pop-up channels created to help broadcasters manage the crisis. These channels can be used by sports media organisations and also for everything from health and news, to education and entertainment, using old shows or movies.

On the company’s message to the sports broadcasting industry at this time, Remi Beaudouin, CSO at Ateme, said to SVG Europe: “We want to assure our customers and partners that we remain committed to supporting them remotely to ensure they continue to receive the level of service and expertise they have come to expect from Ateme.

“These are unprecedented times, but as a software company, we are well positioned to enable our customers to work remotely while maintaining business as usual. However, we are mindful that for many this will be a different way of working so we are taking new steps to support our customers over this period of adjustment,” he noted.

Beaudouin explained: “As part of this we will be hosting a series of live interactive sessions called ‘24h of Ateme’, the first of which will take place on 15 April. We know that our customers have different individual needs and want to ensure we understand exactly what those are and what challenges they are encountering so can remotely deliver the expertise they require.

“With this in mind, we recently sent each of our customers a survey to uncover the types of support they would like to receive from us so we can ultimately help them continue to operate in the best way possible. The findings of this survey will inform the content of ‘24h of Ateme’ during which our experts will deliver tailored communication on these topics and discuss our latest solutions and innovations to help our customers transform their video delivery,” Beaudouin stated.

As to how Ateme’s technology can help sports broadcasters today, he noted: “With the sporting calendar heavily disrupted, sports media organisations are facing a great deal of uncertainty around the creation of new and live content. We believe that key to meeting audience demand in these challenging circumstances will be for sports broadcasters to maximise their archived content, whether in the form of documentaries or replays, for instance.

“This is an area in which our virtual programming software is proving particularly helpful as it allows broadcasters to quickly spin up additional channels to cater to different tastes. This would allow them to create a channel which focuses predominately on athletics, through which they can utilise footage of historic race events, for example, while a dedicated football channel could showcase classic matches from over the years,” he continued. “This type of nostalgic content is likely to resonate well with audiences at times like these, allowing them to relive momentous sporting events, while ensuring sports broadcasters continue to provide value for their customers at a time when many people worldwide will be spending more time in the home.”

Beaudouin went on: “The current worldwide situation is pushing us all to change our habits and as we continue to practice social distancing, TV and OTT channels are playing an even more crucial role in our daily lives. Our mission at Ateme is to help billions of viewers across the globe to enjoy their favourite video content on their screen of choice and this offer will allow broadcasters to do this more easily.

“As our solutions are delivered as software, sports media organisations can rest assured that their employees will be able to access the tools they require to continue to produce content while working remotely. Meanwhile, our team of experts remains available to offer support to our sports media customers and help them overcome any challenges that may arise as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” he concluded.
