Avid Media Composer 7 now shipping

Media Composer 7, the latest update to Avid’s video editing software, is now shipping. The new version features accelerated and simplified file-based workflows, including optimised HD delivery from high-res source material and automated media operations.

In addition, as a key component of the Avid Everywhere vision, the new release offers Interplay Sphere for Mac support, extending and connecting real-time production assets and facilities across the globe.

As more content is created with high-res cameras and delivered as HD, Media Composer 7 enables editors to work directly in HD from the high-res source while maintaining full creative control of image framing. Media Composer 7 also automates the time-consuming process of media transcoding operations in the background, so editors are effectively free to focus on creative storytelling.
