Aerial filming services specialist Batcam has returned as a Bronze sponsor of SVG Europe for 2021.

The company has enjoyed a strong 2020, responding to the need for COVID-safe productions with innovations such as Batcam Drive reporter which includes a full foldback speaker system and onboard monitor. It was used on Sky Sports’ cricket coverage, providing shots and capturing sound on the outfield where handheld cameras, reporters and presenters were no longer allowed.

Jon Hurndall, CEO at Batcam, said: “Thankfully Batcam has enjoyed a fantastic period of growth over the pandemic, with our existing clients committing to using our products for multi-year periods and also new international clients and events which we will announce very soon. We have a jam-packed summer of sport ahead of us and we are hoping to bring some new innovations to market over that period, hopefully in front of crowds!”

Other Batcam projects include the use of Batcam Wire for coverage of the English Premier League, Batcam Drive at the ATP Finals and Batcam Fly at the Cheltenham Festival for ITV Racing.

On the decision to return as an SVG Europe sponsor, Hurndall added: “Despite these unprecedented times, SVG remains a strong source of industry information and is a great place for people in broadcasting to share news and come together either virtually or in person (hopefully very soon!). SVG is also a fantastic platform to be able to let key people in our industry know what we’ve been up to and also what we are planning in the future.”
