BBC secures four more years of cricket coverage including The Hundred plus Ashes highlights

The BBC has renewed its agreement with the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board), with the broadcaster set to continue to show a mix of video clips, highlights and live cricket games.

As part of the four-year deal, BBC Sport will show live coverage of the men’s and women’s Hundred tournaments on BBC Sport each year, covering eight double headers each season, featuring both men’s and women’s Hundred games including the opening matches and the finals across TV and iPlayer.

The broadcaster will also deliver highlights of both men’s and women’s red and white ball internationals across TV, iPlayer, and the BBC Sport website, including the series against India in 2025, the rivalry with Australia in 2027, and the women’s Ashes in 2027.

This adds to the ongoing audio deal with the ECB guaranteeing the iconic Test Match Special will broadcast through until at least 2028 as well as the new four year contract to broadcast men’s and women’s County cricket.

Alex Kay-Jelski, director of BBC Sport, said: “Cricket isn’t just a game of numbers, it’s a game of stories. From unforgettable Ashes battles to exhilarating last-ball victories in The Hundred, this renewed partnership ensures BBC Sport will continue to bring the drama, emotion, and timeless moments of cricket to life for fans across the UK.”

Tony Singh, ECB chief commercial officer, added: “We’re delighted to be extending our partnership, guaranteeing another four years of live cricket on BBC TV.

“With our shared passion for growing women’s sport, it’s exciting that the BBC will be showing even more live women’s games in The Hundred each year, while viewers will continue to have free access to highlights of England Men’s and Women’s home matches during what promises to be an exciting period for cricket in this country.”

BBC Sport’s roster of cricket coverage includes ICC digital clips and audio rights until 2027, covering the Women’s and Men’s Cricket World Cups, Men’s and Women’s T20 World Cups and Men’s and Women’s Champions Trophy and the Men’s Ashes later this year.
