BBC Sport, Sky Sport executives join distinguished line-up for SVG Europe’s SportTech 2014

BBC Sport chief engineer Richard Morgan will join TV2 Norway’s Jens Knudsen and Christine Espeland to discuss the evolution of Olympics broadcast coverage ‘from Russia to Rio’. Sky Sports director of operations Keith Lane, meanwhile, is the latest addition to a session that will examine the extent to which 2014 will be considered a landmark year for sports events and broadcast technology.

Lane joins a panel – which will constitute the culmination of the day’s proceedings – that already includes deltatre chief product officer & group director Carlo de Marchis and IMG Media SVP global director of engineering & technology David Shield.

Other recent additions to the line-up for SportTech 2014 include TV Skyline managing director Wolfgang Reeh to reflect upon the current flurry of new studio and OB facilities, and leading sports TV director John Watts (numerous Snooker World Championships, Rugby World Cups etc) to consider the extent to which new technology determines the nature of sports content – and vice versa.

The next instalment in SVG Europe’s well-attended series of international technology summits, SportTech 2014 will take place at the Emirates Stadium, London, on 7 May.
