SVG Europe caught up with Broadcast Solutions GmbH’s Andreas Hoeflich to find out more about the objectives of Broadcast Products and its future plans…
What is the ‘mission statement’ of Broadcast Products in terms of developing news solutions for broadcast audio?
The primary goal of Broadcast Products is to represent and introduce products to the market that add a unique and innovative approach to the broadcast, sports and live TV business. The LaON systems we promote are just a beginning of more products to join our portfolio.
What are the unique features of the LaON wireless system?
LaON’s products shine out with working in the 5GHz UNII Band (only one on the market) and with non-compressed audio, thus ensuring the best-in class audio performance. It enables the user full-duplex hands-free communications with the consistent audio clarity without PTT operation. LaON uses his own wireless SoC (System on Chip) and RF module and holds several patents on wireless audio transmission and wireless intercom operation. More features include: use of an IP-based repeater together with a Remote Base Station; less than 23ms latency, lowest level in the industry; 7.2KHz Audio Frequency Response; systems offer up to 11 full-duplex audio channels, five communication group channels, and AES 256bit Level 3 encryption.
The LaON system is available worldwide and Broadcast Solutions handles sales and support for DACH, Nordic and Baltic countries, Balkans, and Eastern Europe and Spain.
What has been the response to the system to date and can you reference some specific sports related projects?
Market response to the system has been very good. Broadcast Solutions showed the system on several trade shows around the world, and visitors praised the system for its audio quality and ease of use.
Selected sports references include ICT Pavilion Pyeongchang Olympic Games (2018), League of Legends (2018), SBS 4K UHD OB van (2017) and Asian Games Incheon (2014).
What are the plans for the Broadcast Products range as a whole in 2018, and will there be a presence at most of the major trade events?
With some premier products already in the portfolio, the number of brands to be represented by Broadcast Products will increase in 2018. The company will focus not only on the distribution part of products, but also on developing more in-house developments. A good example is our cable division, where we already develop cables in-house. Customers will have the chance to see Broadcast Products on some of the major trade shows over the year, including Cabsat, Broadcast Asia and IBC.
