‘Believe Beyond HD’ with Sony at BVE

Sony has announced that BVE 2013 will provide the backdrop to the first UK public showing of its full F-series large sensor camera line-up, comprising the PMW-F3, NEX-FS700, PMW-F5, PMW-F55 and F65 4K digital cameras. The show will also see the debut of Sony’s PVM-X300 4K LCD monitor as the company pinpoints the next steps in its ‘Believe Beyond HD’ vision.

Visitors to the Sony stand will get to see first-hand the latest additions to its F Series CineAlta 4K range, the PMW-F5 and PMW-F55, joining Sony’s existing range of NEX-FS700, PMW-F3 and F65 cameras. The new cameras, which record in Sony’s XAVC codec, have already ‘substantial’ pre- orders ahead of the cameras’ ship date this year.

In addition to its role in the general ultra HD future of TV and cinematography, Sony will emphasise 4K’s specific potential with regard to sports broadcasting. By setting up two 4K cameras to provide an 8K image of the entire playing surface, 4K picture stitching gives sports broadcasters the ability to build a complete production remotely by full-HD cutaways of the ultra high definition content.

BVE 2013 will also see Sony exhibit the large sensor NEX-EA50EH and NEX-FS700E cameras, as well as the handheld XDCAM 422 range.
