Dutch professional AV rental equipment company Broadcast Rental announced it will acquire BP Satellite Solutions. The latter operates in the high-end broadcast industry and is specialised in satellite and AV connections. The company is primarily involved in broadcasting Formula 1 races around the world. The two companies will continue to operate under their own brand names and BP Satellite Solutions founder and CEO Patrick Hendriks of BP Satellite Solutions will remain fully involved in the new market combination.

The acquisition of BP Satellite Solutions complements Broadcast Rental’s strategy to become a global player in its field. Broadcast Rental’s CEO Geert Paul Slee said: “The services provided by BP Satellite Solutions work seamlessly with those of Broadcast Rental. The industry know-how, equipment and unparalleled network of relations that BP Satellite Solutions brings will broaden our business foundation and will accelerate our plans to become a major player in Europe and the rest of the world. I have known Patrick and his company for many years and we remain convinced that this union will create tremendous synergy for both ourselves and our customers.”

Founder of BP Satellite Solutions Patrick Hendriks says he is confident that his company and clients are in the right hands with Broadcast Rental.

“Together, we can achieve the necessary growth needed to compete in this globalising world,” he says. “I am glad that after years of managing I can once again fully focus on finding technical solutions for our combined customer base. BP Satellite Solutions and Broadcast Rental are complementary and mutually reinforcing.”

For example, BP Satellite Solutions has a master control room for the monitoring and distribution of broadcast signals. “This MCR is an added value for the customers of Broadcast Rental,” he says. “The wireless camera systems Broadcast Rental offers are in turn very interesting and in demand by the customers of BP Satellite Solutions.”

The capabilities of Broadcast Rental have been deployed for many international productions over the last several years, including such sporting events as the Olympics, World Cups and European Championships football. In addition, major pop concerts, like U2 in Paris and The Rolling Stones in Cuba have utilised its services.

Adds Geert Paul Slee: “We are very proud that we can enhance the breadth of services and novel capabilities as a supplier of wireless camera technology to Formula 1 broadcasting through this new relationship.  We look forward to the opportunity to broaden our global programming reach through this exciting combination.”
