Germany: Korean Broadcasting Systems, the largest of the four main broadcasters in South Korea, has ordered a 16-camera HD OB truck from Broadcast Solutions ahead of its host broadcaster role at the 13th IAAF Championships in Daegu at the end of August.
“Right now there is a big interest all around the world because of the change to HD, starting from small DSNG trucks up to big-size OB vans,” comments Broadcast Solutions technical sales manager, Tobias S Gramm.
The truck features four discrete production areas and is based around a Sony MVX 8000 vision mixer, Snell Cygnus router, and Studer Vista 9 audio console. Camera channels are all exclusively Sony, comprising 8x Sony HD-1000R, 6x Sony HD-1500R, and 2x HDC-3300R units. And according to Gramm the only special considerations required for Korea were some minor adjustments to comply with Korean traffic rules and setting everything up for 220V 60Hz operation.
