BSI moves UK office, prepares for camera link launch

RF technology specialist Broadcast Sports Inc (BSI) has moved its UK offices to a new location in Watford. The US-based company’s new 840 sqm office, located at Axis 3, Rhodes Way, will accommodate BSI’s growing rental business and its recently launched product sales division.

The company has worked on a number of high profile events over the last two years, including the London 2012 Olympics, Formula 1, Welsh Premier League football, Quicksilver Pro France surfing competition and Speedway Great Britain. BSI also offers wireless broadcast equipment for dry hire.

Sharing the new office space is BSI’s product sales division, which includes a team of engineers dedicated to research and development, a manufacturing department, customer service, sales and marketing. BSI is set to release its first product line, a camera link system called Real Freedom, later this year.

“We’re really happy with our new location,” explains BSI’s technical director, Tony Valentino. “The additional space we now have will allow us to grow our inventory so we can support our customers on more levels.”

The company has also recently hired Lee Norton as product sales director to spearhead the effort. Norton joins BSI from EADS and brings extensive experience in the sale of satellite and broadcast technologies to the team.

“This is the first time in BSI’s 30 year history of developing and deploying RF technologies for the broadcast industry that the company will sell one of its products,” says Norton. “It’s an exciting time to be a part of this innovative organization and I look forward to bringing this product line to market.”
