BVE 2013: Audio Theatre to explore sustainability, networking

Part of BVE’s free seminar programme, the dedicated Audio Theatre at this year’s southerly BVE event will address the latest developments pertaining to sustainability, networking, broadcast microphones and more during a busy three-day schedule.

On day one, the Audio Theatre will focus on matters of sustainability. Janet West from BBC R&D will examine the cost and workflow implications for broadcasters of sustainability targets, while celebrated acoustician Andy Munro will look at how to build greener studios with a case study about BBC Broadcasting House. In addition, there will be a look at how manufacturers like Calrec and Genelec are working to maintain performance while reducing the carbon footprint of their products.

On day two, audio networking will come to the fore with practical advice and examinationsof real-world installations, with speakers including Paul Rivens (Riedel) and Adrian Hogg (Focusrite). There will also be a ProTools HDX Expert Clinic from sound designer and audio producer Mike Thornton.

Finally, day three will focus on getting the most from your microphones for broadcast applications, with input from Logan Helps (Audio-Technica), Alan Theakston (Source) and Ed Lister (Flagtime Films). There will also be a wide-ranging session on audio post.
