BVE 2014: Source launches new products from RØDE and Genelec

Source Distribution will host two product debuts at this week’s BVE Show in London on Stand H60. Being launched globally at BVE, the new RØDE VideoMic GO is a compact and lightweight on-camera shotgun microphone, aimed at users shooting HD video on DSLR, compact point-and-shoot and GoPro cameras. Delivering crisp, directional audio, the VideoMic GO incorporates an integrated Rycote Lyre shock mount, which isolates the microphone from external vibration and delivers superior acoustic performance to traditional elastic shock mount solutions.

The VideoMic GO has no complicated switches or settings and is powered by the camera’s external microphone input – making it a useful accessory for anyone wanting high quality audio on the move.

Making its European debut at the BVE show is the Genelec compact new Genelec 8010 active loudspeaker, the newest and smallest member of the 8000 series family. Featuring a 3-inch bass driver and 3/4-inch tweeter — bi-amplified by efficient Class D power amplifiers — the 8010 produces a high SPL for a small footprint monitor, making it suitable for small studios, desktop editing, OB vans and mobile production work.

In common with other 8000 series monitors, the 8010 employs Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) circuitry which can be activated or disabled as the user sees fit. When engaged, ISS technology saves power by automatically putting the monitor into sleep mode when audio has been absent for a period of time.
