BVE Reflections: ATG Danmon reports ‘healthy broadcast media market conditions’

ATG Danmon UK has reported healthy media market conditions based on the good attendance at Broadcast Video Expo 2016, which was held in London last week.

“Demand for our systems integration services remains high,” comments ATG Danmon UK managing director Russell Peirson-Hagger. “BVE once again proved a useful forum for discussions with terrestrial and satellite broadcasters, post-production facilities and customers from other sectors. We had useful meetings both with existing clients and potential new ones. The show also gave us a chance to meet with manufacturers to discuss the new products they were exhibiting or are planning to introduce in the near future.

“The key trend noticeable this year is the increasing importance of network design both as an element of the total systems integration service and as a technical skill in its own right. We are currently busy on many projects combining hardware and software, augmented by strong demand for our skills in selecting and combining solutions to run on standard IT platforms.

“Customers recognise the experience we have across the entire technical spectrum, from baseband hardware to file-based workflow. We are increasingly being called upon to select and integrate systems based on software from multiple vendors, typically combining file-based content management, transcoding and quality control within a single environment.”
