Canal+, Viasat install ChyronHego’s sports-friendly GS2 Multi-Touch
French broadcaster Canal+ and Norwegian broadcaster Viasat have installed the ChyronHego GS2 Multi-Touch platform, marking the first ever implementation of ChyronHego’s touchscreen solution in each respective geographic market. The GS2 technology is said to offer optimal graphics rendering performance and touchscreen responsiveness, allowing the staff of Canal+ and Viasat Norway to create compelling interactive productions.
Canal+ France has employed ChyronHego’s touchscreen technology during its pre- and post-match magazine shows for its Ligue 1 French National Football coverage. This project ― through a partnership with live sports data company, Opta ― allows Canal+ to incorporate advanced interactive sports statistics into touchscreen broadcasts.
In a deal that spans two seasons, Viasat Norway is using ChyronHego’s GS2 Multi-Touch solution on its magazine show for its Champions League football coverage. The touchscreen technology integrates with league data provided by Infostrada ― a full service sports and media company ― in addition to controlling Viasat Norway’s EVS servers. This ChyronHego touchscreen is specifically branded to promote the show’s host sponsor, HTC, and features a screen that resembles a giant HTC Smartphone.
Ian Wray, group sales director at ChyronHego, comments: “The Canal+ France and Viasat Norway projects demonstrate the great power, flexibility and responsiveness of ChyronHego’s GS2 Multi-Touch platform. These projects further demonstrate the expanding traction that ChyronHego solutions continue to gain in new markets across the globe.”
