Chyron becomes official live graphics provider for FIL TV broadcasts
Chyron is set to serve as the official graphics provider for live broadcasts of The International Luge Federation (FIL) competitions, starting with the 2024/2025 pre-Olympic winter season. This collaboration aims to elevate the visual experience of luge broadcasts to unprecedented heights.
FIL secretary general Dwight Bell said: “We are excited about this coming season as we will be racing across three continents, including Europe, North America and Asia. Importantly, athletes will start the qualification process for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano-Cortina, Italy. Given that Chyron provides state-of-art cutting-edge graphics, which aligns perfectly with our goal of providing our viewers with an elevated experience, it made sense to associate our brands together.”
Since the 2023/2024 season, Chyron has been integral to FIL’s live sports production success, specifically in the realm of TV graphics. FIL launched an ambitious effort with Chyron to revamp its entire graphics offering, including the base graphics package, but introducing new and dynamic graphics that were informative and entertaining to viewers. With its presence at every World Cup and FIL Championship event, Chyron’s dedicated team has consistently enhanced the quality of the broadcast graphics and in-depth analysis.
“The FIL presented us with an exciting opportunity to overhaul their on-air look while improving their race day workflow. We think that our professional services team along with the power and flexibility of Chyron Prime were the keys to a successful first season of luge coverage. We are excited for this continued partnership to help FIL push the envelope even more,” said Drew Hahn, Chyron senior vice president of sales, Americas.
Mark Friedman, vice president of sales, strategic accounts, Chyron added: “We worked closely with the FIL team to design a fresh new look that takes advantage of all the data points they have at their disposal but had rarely tapped into. Each race is over in a minute or less and every fraction of a second matters. Chyron Prime allows us to display compelling graphics quickly to match the speed of the event.”
Moving into the 2024/2025 season, Chyron’s Prime software is enabling the FIL to add new animations and custom graphics to convey even more fan engaging information.
FIL president, Einars Fogelis, expressed his enthusiasm, saying: “We are incredibly excited to deepen our partnership with Chyron. Their long-standing expertise in TV graphics and live production has already proven invaluable, and we look forward to seeing the innovative ways they will enhance our broadcasts in the upcoming season.”
Chyron CEO, Mike Truex concluded: “The FIL is a forward-thinking organisation who are looking to expand their audience globally through a visually appealing graphics presentation that leverages the vast amount of data they have. We are proud to partner with them and show what Prime can do for top sports federations around the world.”
