CT UK updates community on continuing to adapt to COVID-19

Creative Technology UK managing director Mark Elliott has contacted SVG Europe to communicate the current situation at the company, now that it has come to terms with the immediate business outlook.

“Firstly, we would like to send out our best wishes to you and your extended families; we hope you are all remaining healthy and safe at this time. To anyone who may unfortunately be unwell currently, we hope you make a speedy recovery. This virus is affecting us all and we understand how important it is to help each other through these difficult times.

“COVID-19 has unquestionably had a significant impact on the UK, with each of us having to make important changes and sacrifices to our daily lives in order to adhere to government guidelines and most importantly, keep ourselves and others safe.

“Creative Technology is no exception to this, and we’ve put a great deal of time and effort into making financial and operational alterations to our business so that we can protect our employees, freelancers and clients, with a goal of retaining full operational strength through this crisis.

“Along with many other companies affected by COVID-19, Creative Technology has made the decision to furlough many of our employees, preserving jobs and looking after our dedicated and loyal team. This has been done to a level that will not significantly impact our capabilities or capacity for current clients’ requirements or those arising as we come out of this crisis. We retain an operational business whilst adhering to the strict social distancing rules laid out by the government.

“As this pandemic continues to take hold of the nation, we have adapted our business, finding innovative ways to use remote and virtual meeting technologies.  We have been busy developing our Connected Events solutions – allowing our clients to continue delivering phenomenal live events ‘virtually’. We are excited to show you in more detail what solutions we have in place and will be sending you more information on this shortly.

“We have also developed a full programme of online training opportunities, making good use of our skilled and knowledgeable team, to educate and train others in our community, using this time effectively to provide valuable training support for freelancers. So far these have received an overwhelming uptake and are set to continue for the foreseeable future. Details of upcoming training sessions will continue to be communicated via our social media channels which you can find links to in the footer of this email.

“As well as providing support to others within our industry, Creative Technology has also taken a more unorthodox approach to assist those fighting against COVID-19 by dedicating the processing power capacity of our idle media servers to scientific research as part of the Folding@Home project run by Stanford University.

“We are also proud to support the #MakeItBlue campaign – organised by the events and entertainment industry to salute the brave NHS staff risking their own health to care for others during this pandemic. Thank you all for your continued support.
