Czech and Slovak sports channels extend Formula 1 deal through 2020

FR F1 CzechAMC Networks International – Central Europe has signed a three-year contract extension with Pragosport to broadcast Formula 1 exclusively in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The deal, which runs through 2020, secures for the sports channels Sport1 and Sport2 exclusive live coverage of all races and qualifying sessions of Formula 1, plus the broadcast of the support races, Formula 2 and GP3.

Levente B. Málnay, SVP of AMC Networks International, Central and Northern Europe, commented on the deal: “This is a great deal that takes our sports channels’ partnership with Formula 1 to the next level. Since 2015, we have demonstrated our commitment to Formula 1, offering fans dedicated commentators and excellent broadcasting which has become a great success in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We are proud to say that Sport1 and Sport2 in these territories will continue to be identified with such a valuable brand as Formula 1.”

The 2017 Formula 1 season was launched in Australia when the world’s best drivers started their year-round competition with 20 races through the Season finale on 26 November 2017. Beside the Australian race, this year will see the series arrive in nine countries in Europe, six in Asia and four in the Americas.
