DAZN extends combat sports portfolio with EFC partnership

DAZN has agreed a multi-year rights partnership with Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC), expanding its global combat sports portfolio.

DAZN will broadcast EFC events free-to-view worldwide, excluding Sub-Saharan Africa and Poland. EFC is widely regarded as Africa’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) organisation.

The partnership launches with EFC 134, which takes place in Johannesburg, South Africa on 4 June. It will be headlined by a major women’s flyweight championship bout between reigning champion Amanda “Mad Dog” Lino and challenger Juliet Chukwu of Nigeria. The contest is considered one of the most significant women’s championship fights in African MMA history.

Among the key matchups is a pivotal flyweight contest between Sisa Jungula and Thapelo Seabi. Additional bouts include Tebatso Molele against Zimbabwe’s Lecture Gumbi, alongside contests featuring fighters from South Africa and across the region.
The card highlights the depth of talent emerging from Africa’s mixed martial arts scene.

Shay Segev, DAZN Group CEO, said: “DAZN is the global home of sport, and alongside enhancing our portfolio of top-tier fight sport content this partnership with EFC also reflects our commitment to supporting fast-growing sports. We are helping EFC expand their global reach and introduce elite African MMA to fans around the world.”
