DAZN has partnered with The Women’s Cup to broadcast eight international matches featuring clubs from across the US, Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. With eight teams, this summer will mark the largest iteration of The Women’s Cup as the competition.
The Women’s Cup is an invitational tournament, giving teams from five continents the opportunity to compete against each other.
Played annually around the world during February and August, the tournaments function like a Global League, offering clubs vital international competition during their preseason.
Esmeralda Negron, Co-CEO Women’s Sports, DAZN, said: “We are partnering with The Women’s Cup to broadcast this tournament and bring these unique matches to our European audiences. With matchups hosted by KC Current and Racing Louisville against other world-leading teams such as: Atlético de Madrid, Juventus, Palmeiras, Colo Colo and Mamelodi Sundance our community of fans will have free access to more premium women’s football.”
DAZN has positioned itself as “the Global Home of Women’s Football” and the world’s leading investor in women’s football rights. All DAZN coverage of women’s soccer sits in DAZN’s freemium environment, making these matches available to all fans in Europe at no cost. The matches will sit alongside a portfolio of premium women’s soccer rights including the UEFA Women’s Champion’s League, Liga F, D1 Arkema and the Google-Pixel Frauen Bundesliga.
John Paul Reynal, president and chief executive, The Women’s Cup, added: “DAZN has invested like no other Broadcaster to give visibility to Women’s Football.
