Dell EMC is new SVG Europe Gold Sponsor and SportTech 2017 Title Sponsor

SVG Europe is excited to announce that not only has Dell EMC become its latest Gold Sponsor, the company has also confirmed its Title Sponsorship of next week’s SportTech conference. One of the most well-attended events in the busy annual SVG Europe schedule, SportTech will take place this year at the Emirates Stadium in London on June 7.

Dell EMC is a trusted leader in media and entertainment products for content creators, broadcasters, and content delivery providers. Dell EMC products form the foundation of a simple and future-proof infrastructure, giving customers the agility to transform business operations, and the flexibility to adapt to new media workflows. Through innovative products and services, Dell EMC accelerates creation and monetization of media, helping media professionals create, manage, deliver and analyze their most valuable digital media assets.

Specific products in the current range include Dell Precision workstations, Dell UltraSharp monitors, Dell PowerEdge servers, Dell EMC Isilon and Elastic Cloud Storage offerings, and Dell EMC networking products.

Sports focus

Sports broadcasting is a particular beneficiary of the Dell EMC offer. According to the company, the ongoing dramatic changes in media consumption requires sports media organisations to consider not only ways to expand their content libraries, but also ways to meet the dynamic growth in the number of subscribers, the methods they consume their media, and innovative methods of analysing customer behaviour to support sponsors.

In line with this, Dell EMC provides end-to-end infrastructure for broadcast sport production and playout workflows. For example, one of Dell EMC’s customers is Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) in the U.S. MLBAM relies on Dell EMC for live streaming and video-on-demand of all MLB games (nearly 18,000 live video events per year, including up to 60 live streams of baseball games every day) as well as streaming media for dozens of third-party customers.

Future product foci include the transition from SDI to IP. Dell EMC says that it helps its customers move from media industry-specific appliances in the media data centre to media industry software applications running on enterprise-grade storage, servers, networking and virtualization.
