Deltatre expands global sales force with key appointment from FIFA
Stefan-Eric Wildemann, formerly of FIFA, has joined Deltatre as senior director of business development, tasked with building global relationships with sport media operators.
Wildemann has in-depth knowledge of the purchasing and placement of global media rights, particularly in football, and unique experience in the creation of offerings around content packages to unlock digital value. He joins Deltatre from FIFA, where he held the role of head of TV sales and distribution for three years. At FIFA he was responsible for the placement of global competition and event media rights. During his time at the governing body of football, he helped spearhead several initiatives aimed at unlocking the digital value of content rights across platforms, particularly around the Brazil and Russia FIFA World Cups.
In his new role Wildemann will expand uptake opportunities of Deltatre’s product and solutions portfolio across all territories, bringing value to premium rights holders around the growth of their digital properties.
Based in the Geneva office, he will help lead innovation around a core set of Deltatre’s services including data gathering and management, digital servicing, OTT, web and apps, and broadcast graphics suites, with a focus on building relationships with football leagues and federations.
Commenting on the appointment, Gilles Mas, president of global football, said: “Stefan-Eric is a great addition to our global sales operation. His experience working for one of the most recognised sporting entities in the world and extensive knowledge on the global sports industry will help take us to even greater commercial heights.”
Wildemann added: “When it comes to innovation in sport, Deltatre stands alone. Its ability to foresee trends and develop solutions that enable rights owners to unlock otherwise inaccessible value is unmatched in the technology service provider space. For me, it was a no-brainer to join what is clearly an incredibly passionate team that helps its clients reach billions of fans around the world every day.”
