Disney+ has agreed a three-season deal to bring LaLiga to customers in France from the 2026/27 season. Every match will stream live on ESPN on Disney+, the included offering that gives customers access to live sport, studio shows and original programming, as part of their existing subscription.
For the first time, customers will be able to stream all 380 matches each season, with every match available in French. The coverage is produced by ESPN and combines commentary and weekly highlights. The 2026/27 season begins on 15 August, from which point French customers will have live coverage from the opening matchday.
LaLiga clubs include Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, alongside Villarreal CF, Sevilla and Real Betis. Fixtures include El Clásico, the Madrid derby and Seville’s El Gran Derbi.
The agreement follows this summer’s FIFA World Cup. French internationals playing in LaLiga EA Sports include Kylian Mbappé, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga and Jules Koundé. LaLiga EA Sports was the best-represented domestic competition in the FIFA World Cup final, with 24 of the 52 players across Spain and Argentina’s squads having represented LaLiga clubs during the 2025/26 season.
The France launch adds to ESPN’s relationship with LaLiga. In the US, ESPN is the English and Spanish-language home of LaLiga through the 2028/29 season. Across Europe, ESPN on Disney+ recently agreed a four-season deal covering Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland from the 2026/27 season, and in the UK and Ireland it carries one live LaLiga match every Saturday night.
“We’re excited to bring LALIGA to all Disney+ France customers in a fresh new way. LALIGA has a strong connection with football fans in France, with many French players making their mark in Spain alongside iconic clubs and unforgettable rivalries, making it a great addition. We can’t wait for our customers to enjoy coverage that feels exciting, different and made for football fans today,” said Karl Holmes, general manager of Disney+ EMEA.
“We are delighted to strengthen our long-standing relationship with Disney through this new agreement in France. From the start of the new season, French fans will be able to enjoy all 380 LALIGA EA SPORTS matches live on Disney+, bringing them closer than ever to the competition’s biggest clubs, iconic rivalries and world-class talent. This agreement is another important milestone in our global collaboration with The Walt Disney Company, building on our successful collaborations across the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland, and most recently the Nordics, and reflects our shared ambition to bring the very best of Spanish football to fans around the world,” said LaLiga president Javier Tebas.
“As ESPN on Disney+ continues to expand across Europe, bringing LALIGA to customers in France marks another important milestone. Building on our long-standing relationship with LALIGA, this agreement brings one of the world’s leading football competitions to even more fans. With its world-renowned clubs, exceptional talent and football played at the very highest level, LALIGA further strengthens our growing live sports offering on Disney+,” said Diego Londono, senior vice-president and general manager of networks and sports at The Walt Disney Company EMEA.
Disney+’s live sport offering continues to grow across Europe. Alongside the UEFA Women’s Champions League, available across Europe, customers in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland can watch the Copa del Rey, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League, with the UEFA Champions League joining Disney+ in Sweden from the 2027/28 season. ESPN on Disney+ also carries college sport including the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments (March Madness), the College Football Playoff and bowl games, as well as the Little League World Series and the Savannah Bananas. In select markets, customers can watch the NBA and NHL from the 2026/27 season.
In France, customers can also stream L’Équipe as part of ESPN on Disney+, carrying live sport including the world championships in biathlon, the Spanish Super Cup, the Diamond League, the European Table Tennis Union circuit and the Dakar Rally.
LaLiga coverage will also feature across ESPN’s digital and social channels, with highlights, news and key moments from every match.
