E-Xplorer names Aurora as Content Production Partner

Aurora has been appointed as Content Production Partner for the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup, a new international all-electric, all-terrain motorcycle series.

Backed by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the FIM E-Xplorer World Cup will fuse action-packed racing, technical innovation and exploration. Twelve teams of two riders, one male and one female per team, will race together in total gender parity. They will compete in a series of global events spanning a mix of city centre and epic natural locations. Harnessing the growing appetite for the electrification of motorsport, E-Xplorer will act as a test bed for two-wheel technology, as well as appealing to the next generation of climate-conscious fans.

Aurora will provide multi-format broadcast coverage, format development, digital content and brand activations for the first FIM E-Xplorer World Cup, which is scheduled to launch in 2023. The partnership has already started with Aurora creating content for E-Xplorer’s first official test, held in September, close to the town of Vollore-Montagne in central France. Eight female and eight male riders were thrilled to experience this first taste of the new racing discipline, as well as the four manufacturers’ electric motorcycle technology and overall performance on a spectacular track.

Aligned with the sustainable philosophy of the championship, the entire event, including the paddock, was powered through zero-emission hydrogen energy generators provided by GCK Energy. E-Xplorer is focused on bringing in a new era of motorsports energy management across the board, without fossil fuel consumption and with silent technology that makes the great outdoors even more enjoyable, whether on a motorcycle or at an FIM E-Xplorer World Cup event.

Carina Munte, chief championship officer & co-founder of E-Xplorer, said: We are delighted to welcome Aurora onboard as our Content Production Partner. We are thrilled with the content already produced for the test event in Vollore-Montagne; their wealth of experience and innovation helps us tell our E-Xplorer story on a global level. I am excited to see where this partnership takes us as we accelerate towards our inaugural season.”

James Pearce, partnerships director at Aurora, said: “E-Xplorer has great potential to carve its own path, and become one of the leading, next generation, sports entertainment properties. We are thrilled to be working alongside their fantastic team to develop the series and tell their unique stories of all action racing, innovation, exploration and equality. We are excited about the journey ahead and can’t wait to kick things off in 2023.”

Taz Addison, producer at Aurora, said: “I’m incredibly excited about all the possibilities a series like E-Xplorer will bring to a new generation of motorsport fans. It’s a fantastic opportunity to be a part of something so fresh and innovative, with sustainability and equality at its heart, while giving us everything we could want in a race format. We are excited to see what the future holds for this championship.”
