Easel TV and M2A Media to collaborate on OTT solutions

Joe Foster, CEO, Easel TV

Easel TV, the global provider of OTT video services and M2A Media, leading specialist in cloud video solutions, have announced a partnership to offer all-in-one packaged OTT services. The collaboration combines M2A’s Live Capture and Live Streaming products with Easel TV’s end-to-end OTT management suite and extensive set of OTT device apps.

M2A Media’s Live Streaming solution provides live streaming and pseudo live (time-shifted) experiences, as well as its Live Capture service for immediate live event re-streaming (watch-from-start, watch-from-live).

Easel TV’s suite of OTT management tools provide a full CMS (Content Management System) for scheduling, pricing, packaging and publishing of OTT content. Consumer registration and detailed analytics allow full tracking of all usage, reconciling wholesale billing, and all aspects of running the OTT service.

“This is about getting a complete OTT service to market in time for major events,” said Joe Foster CEO of Easel TV, “with features that help our clients scale and take on an instant audience.”

For OTT to compete with broadcast it needs to provide scale and robustness for global rollout of services across a multitude of devices. Easel TV’s OTT service includes device optimised OTT Apps for desktop, mobile, tablets, a plethora of connected TV devices (Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Chromecast, Android TV, Samsung) and TV operator STBs (Vewd devices, TiVo, EE, Freesat, and others).  This allows content owners to get to a huge audience quickly and reliably across a full complement of OTT services, both live and VOD.

In addition to operating on a robust base of extensively deployed Easel TV and M2A cloud-based technology, M2A’s 24/7 Operations team monitors QOS for the live streams with full support for managing any incidents.

“This partnership builds on an already impressive set of cloud services from both M2A and Easel TV and focuses on quality,” said Marina Kalkanis, CEO, M2A Media. “Our objective is to provide all the essential features of a comprehensive OTT service and deliver highest quality video to market leading consumer devices globally.”

The joint offering is targeted at sports and other live events including music festivals, live news or concerts. It will be a one stop shop for all real-time streaming requirements. It combines two of the UK’s leading exponents of OTT services and offers a real alternative to the US backed offerings from the likes of BAMTECH and OVPs such as Ooyala and Brightcove.
