EBU strikes deal with UEFA for Women’s Euro 2025

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has struck a deal with UEFA for comprehensive media rights for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, spanning 34 territories on behalf of 37 EBU members.

The media rights acquired include broadcast on TV, digital, and radio, with EBU members demonstrating their “commitment to enhancing the visibility of women’s football across Europe at an unprecedented level,” the EBU said.

EBU executive director of sport Glen Killane said: “This agreement for UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 is unprecedented in terms of broadcast reach and reinforces our commitment to showcasing women’s football, ensuring it continues to grow and thrive. The deal reflects the core strategy of the EBU and its Members of enhancing the promotion of women’s sports with strong and even more increased Members’ coverage complemented by the women’s football offer on Eurovision Sport.”

Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA marketing director, added: “Our partnership with the EBU is vital for promoting women’s football across Europe. Through the commitment demonstrated by EBU Members, we can ensure the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 reaches a wide and diverse audience, inspiring future generations and supporting the growth of the women’s game.”

The agreement builds on the legacy of past EBU partnerships with UEFA, including EBU members’ record-breaking coverage of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022, and reflects the EBU’s ongoing dedication to promoting women’s sports.

Under the terms of the deal, all matches will be broadcast live in every territory and on every matchday and in each territory, there will be live match action on members’ free-to-air (FTA) channels and digital platforms, ensuring maximum accessibility for fans, said the EBU.

Highlights of the event will be widely accessible in round-up and news programming, as well as on digital platforms. Eurovision News will support EBU Members with a large output of news clips throughout the competition.

EBU members that have committed to broadcasting the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 are: AMPTV , ARD , BBC, BHRT, BNR (Radio), BNT, CR (Radio), CT, CyBC, ERR, ERT, GPB, HRT, ITV, LR (Radio), LRT, LTV, MRT, MTVA, NOS, ORF, PBS, ROR (Radio), RTE, RTBF, RTCG, RTK, RTL, RTS, RTSH, RTV, RTVS, RUV, SRG SSR, TRT, TVR, VRT and ZDF

Eurovision Sport, the EBU’s new FTA streaming platform, will provide additional coverage of the tournament, aiming to complement EBU member broadcasts and offering greater distribution and access to fans.

UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 will take place in Switzerland from 2 to 27 July 2025.
