Shared Production Storage – EditShare Xstream and Energy Series
EditShare’s storage infrastructure combines high performance and workflow-engineered features such as Avid and Final Cut Pro project sharing to optimize collaboration for postproduction, Digital Intermediate, and broadcast production workflows. Fully integrated with Flow, Lightworks, Geevs, and Ark, EditShare Xstream and Energy storage solutions scale to petabytes.
Production Asset Management – EditShare Flow
Flow offers comprehensive media management capabilities for ingesting and logging clips and tracking assets across the production chain. Flow’s features include Multichannel Ingest, Edit-While-Capture, and Bandwidth-Controlled File-Based Ingest. Rapid production tools like Flow Logger and Flow Projects and Bins enable users to work quickly and efficiently and begin the pre-editing process during ingest. EditShare Universal File Technology gives users the space efficiency and convenience of single-format editing without sacrificing metadata tracking across the workflow.
Editing – Lightworks and Lightworks Open Source
EditShare will demonstrate both the commercial Lightworks editor, featuring advanced stereoscopic 3D capabilities that are currently used on Martin Scorsese’s 3D film, Hugo Cabret, and the phase one release from the Lightworks Open Source initiative. Lightworks Open Source is a large-scale, open-source development initiative for non-linear editing (NLE) platforms. Lightworks Open Source offers a gateway into the NLE’s core engine and enables a wide range of creative developers to implement features and workflows.
Broadcast Ingest And Playout – Geevs
Geevs features a new user interface and new sports application with multi-channel, synchronized recording, and playback for up to 16 cameras, including instant playout and slow-motion replay. In addition to supporting the full range of broadcast codecs, Geevs supports widely used postproduction formats Avid DNxHD and ProRes. The new codec support optimizes production workflows, with seamless integration for Avid and Final Cut Pro editing workgroups, enhancing media migration from production storage to the Geevs playout platform.
Archiving and Media Protection – EditShare Ark
Developed on the same architecture as the shared storage solutions, EditShare Ark offers media protection for broadcast and post, providing hard disk and tape-based options for backup and archiving. Advancements include a new partial file restoration capability that supports virtually any codec.
