Euro Media Group buys Infront Sports’ Milan studio complex
Euro Media Group (EMG) has bought Infront Production Centre (ICP), the Milan TV studio complex that is used to produce sports and entertainment shows for Eurosport Italia, DAZN, Sky, Mediaset and Serie A.
ICP consists of five studios covering a total area of more than 6000 square metres. It was previously owned and operated by Infront Sports.
Following the change of ownership, the complex will be re-named as 3zero2 Studios and will continue to employ its current staff. No financial details were revealed.
The purchase is part of EMG’s strategy to “further consolidate and strengthen its activities in the Italian market”, the company said.
Patrick van den Berg, joint chief executive of EMG, discussing the purchase, explained: “This transaction fits fully into our international growth strategy, in particular, the ambition to consolidate our position in markets with strong potential both through organic growth than acquisitions.
“This operation confirms the strong [bond] existing between EMG and Infront and will help further strengthen the relationship between the two groups. We are happy to continue our growth strategy even during this particular COVID-19 period.”
Alessandro Giacomini, the managing director of Infront Italy, added: “We are delighted that ICP is joining EMG. In the last five years, we have achieved a very high level of services with ICP and we believe that EMG is today the ideal partner to allow the company to move on to the next phase of its development.
“You will be able to take advantage of EMG’s experience and network to further extend its business field and customer portfolio. We look forward to continuing to work with EMG to support our projects and productions in Italy and worldwide. “
