EVS LiveCeption Signature helps NBC Sports deliver Winter Games coverage
NBC Sports selected EVS’ LiveCeption Signature solution for its production of the XXIV Olympic Winter Games, from Beijing, China, which ran from 2-20 February.
It deployed LiveCeption Signature across the International Broadcast Centers in Beijing and Stamford, and other venues for its 1080p UHD HDR live production of the event. The solution comprised EVS’ XT-VIA servers and LSM-VIA replay and highlights systems to provide the power, scale and versatility needed to deliver the high standards of performance of NBC Olympics’ productions.
“Our continued partnership with EVS heavily relied on the XT-VIA platform with even further integration for UHD 1080p and HDR production through the Winter Olympics, building on successes from Tokyo,” said Darryl Jefferson, VP of post operations and digital workflow, NBC Sports & Olympics. “The dependable infrastructure of the provider allowed us to seamlessly work in multiple formats and standards, all in real time.”
“We are proud of NBC Sports’ continued trust in EVS and our technology,” said Quentin Grutman, chief customer officer at EVS. “LiveCeption Signature has been designed at its core to meet even the most demanding live production requirements, and we are confident this solution enhanced NBC Sports’ visual narrative of the event.”
