Expanded reach for BBC’s weekly rugby league show

The Super League Show, the BBC’s weekly rugby league programme, returned to BBC One for a 14th series yesterday (4 February), and for the first time the programme is getting a daytime slot for its repeat UK showing on the following day.

Due to air through until September, the programme will feature highlights and interviews from the weekend’s Super League fixtures. It will also include input from the game’s top players, plus comment on the week’s topical issues, both on and off the pitch, from regular studio pundits.

Made at the BBC’s Leeds-based studios, home city of current Super League champions the Leeds Rhinos, the Super League Show is produced by independent production company PDI Media.

Charles Runcie, head of sport for BBC English Regions, comments:  “It’s fantastic news that daytime viewers across the UK can see the Super League Show for the first time. We aim to showcase all that is great in the sport, with the best of the weekend action and well-informed analysis.”
