FIFA World Cup expert joins SVG Europe’s inaugural Football Production Summit

SVG Europe is pleased to announce that Marius Schneider, the former Head of Content Management Services at FIFA will be moderating a panel discussion at SVG Europe’s inaugural Football Production Summit, scheduled to take place at the iconic Stade de France in Paris on 29 February 2012.

Now an independent digital content consultant, Swiss-based Schneider was involved with five FIFA World Cups and numerous other football events as well as leading all World Ranking projects during his 18-year tenure at FIFA. Also, he set up a football data legacy for world football’s governing body stretching from the early days of football to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. His professional experience includes work on Olympic Games projects (ORIS, INFO) as well as in athletics.

Schneider will lead a discussion called ‘Perspectives in Football Broadcast Technologies’ and will be joined by representatives from STATS Inc, Opta, Deltatre, EVS and Eurosport.

More football matches are broadcast in Europe than any other sport, making it harder than ever for broadcasters to differentiate their offerings. Topics up for discussion in this panel include: What are the latest tools and techniques available, from coverage at the match itself through to the studio and on to the web? What are the must-have camera angles and shots? How can content be repurposed in a compelling manner onto the second screen and what is the growing role of data in capturing fan attention via event driven websites?

As well as featuring an opening address from UEFA’s head of TV Production Bernie Ross, representatives from top flight Italian football club AC Milan, English Premier League giant Manchester City and England’s Football League, the largest single body of professional clubs in Europe with 72 members, are among the impressive line up of speakers taking part in the event. They will be joined by speakers from Sky, Sony, HBS, PERFORM, 3ality Technica and Wasserman Media group in panels covering ‘Football Broadcast Technologies’, ‘Football Club Perspectives’ and ‘Next-Gen Technologies: 3D, 4k, and Beyond’.

Places are filling quickly at this must-attend event, so interested parties are advised to book quickly to ensure their place. As well as benefiting from the insights of industry leaders, delegates will find that generous refreshment breaks and an evening cocktail party will provide them with excellent networking opportunities for industry professionals working in European broadcasting production.
