Finepoint Broadcast renews OB/SI Sponsorship of SVG Europe to stay in front of the right people in sports broadcasting

OB/SI Sponsor of SVG Europe, Finepoint Broadcast, has renewed its commitment to the association for another year.

Giles Bendig, Finepoint Broadcast, managing director

Finepoint Broadcast managing director, Giles Bendig, commented: “The world of sports broadcasting is growing, and along with it, so is demand for our services. Finepoint Broadcast is experiencing healthy demand from OB production companies for its equipment hire requirements, fuelled by major sports events during 2018 and 2019. As such, our continued sponsorship of SVG Europe is key to making sure we are able to get our brand in front of the right people in the sports broadcast industry.

“SVG Europe’s events provide the forum for us to be able to do that; we can network with the major broadcasters and OB companies in a relaxed setting, while also learning what companies in this sector are up to and the challenges they foresee in the future. It’s an invaluable setting for us,” Bendig added.

He continued: “In 2018 we supplied high-end production equipment to OB companies covering many major sports events. Among the largest were the Commonwealth Games in Australia, W

orld Cup football in Russia and Asian Games in Jakarta.

“2019 is set to see even greater demand. As well as providing equipment for the regular UK-based sports calendar we have already been commissioned to supply equipment for four high profile sports events. The Cricket World Cup will be taking place in England and Wales. This overlaps with the Women’s Football World Cup in France, then the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, followed by the Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. To service such high demand we are continually investing in the very latest 4K-ready equipment giving our loyal client base confidence that we can provide the quantity of kit required for their projects.”

Finepoint Broadcast has to constantly upgrade its equipment to meet demand for 4K UHD. Bendig noted: “As we are one of the UK’s largest holders of EVS machines for hire we are also looking at the EVS VIA’s and how they will fit into demand in the near future.”

“With various events taking place on a global scale we find ourselves working tirelessly with our clients to assist in the logistics planning of moving kit around from one event to the next. A great deal of experience and foresight comes into play when booking kit out to one client and then planning on moving it to the next client,” he concluded.
