Fluendo video analysis software deployed in Scotland with GGFC

Fluendo has expanded into Scotland with its LongoMatch video analysis software through a new partnership with Glasgow Girls FC (GGFC). GGFC is a Scottish Football Association Community Quality Mark Club based in the East End of Glasgow.

The club began with twelve young girls and one coach competing in the Scottish Women’s Football League u13s. Seven years later, the club now has over 200 registered girls playing football in a safe and structured environment.

Edward Gallagher, club development coach commented on the partnership about the importance of video analysis: “For me personally it is very important. I was hired by the club at the end of 2014 and I recognized that using video analysis would help take GGFC and their players to the next level. Being able to look for trends in our play, re-watch our games and provide specific feedback to our players at training is very important to my coaching. The players have adapted to the new training methods and benefited technically on the training field, benefited from the strength training physically and the analysis has benefited the players tactically. Overall adding the pieces together we’ve managed to develop a well-rounded training programme for the players.

“I believe that the LongoMatch program itself is beneficial for me as it is relatively easy to use and also makes coding a game a little bit quicker than using other program in the market.”

LongoMatch is used today worldwide by amateur and professional sports teams, including the Belgium national World Cup soccer team, the Spanish Padel Federation, the Royal Spanish Handball Federation, STB Le Havre Basketball team French Division A, and the Harvard University women’s soccer team, among others. With LongoMatch, professional or amateur coaches and athletes can record and edit videos with tags and diagrams to produce detailed performance breakdowns and game statistics. Customisable to any sport and uniquely compatible with all software platforms, LongoMatch allows users to review tagged events in-game and export the video clips while still analysing games live.

“Our new partnership with Glasgow Girls FC is a first in Scotland. We are delighted to team up with this organization and their unique vision. We look forward to seeing the benefits LongoMatch brings to GGFC,” said David Mascioni, Fluendo marketing manager.
