FOR-A recorders selected for European Tour archiving work

Two FOR-A LTR-120HS video archive recorders are being deployed by CTV and SIS Live to capture golf tournaments taking place as part of the European Tour, coverage of which is produced by IMG Media. The complete archiving process – from ingest to distribution, archiving and repurposing – is achieved with the LTR-120HS units in a move that is said to have significantly reduced set-up complexity and maintenance costs.

LTO-6 tapes are loaded into the FOR-A LTS-60 video server and registered via the MAM option on the server. A partial retrieve feature is used to extract clips from the event, which are distributed on to IMG Media’s IT network for use as highlights. The LTR-120HS recorder contains a broadcast-quality codec for high-quality video recording of AVC-Intra and DVCPRO formats. Designed to enable ‘archive at ingest’ solutions, the LTR-120HS recorder can record video footage as an MXF file in real time by simply pressing ‘record’ and ‘play’ on the convenient front panel controls.

LTS-MAM software runs on the LTS-60 server and enables intuitive, browser-based, searching, re-purposing and management of assets from devices on the network. It also enables the user to batch archive folders.

IMG Media also employs FOR-A 10 UFM-30FRC HD/SD frame rate converters. Featuring a motion compensation processing mode and linear converter mode to perform optimal conversions, the UFM-30FRC is equipped with up-, down- and cross-converters as standard and can achieve wide-ranging format conversion.
