Full house for SVG Europe and Dolby’s second annual Next Generation Audio Summit

SVG Europe and Dolby are delighted to announce a full house for this week’s Next Generation Audio Summit, which takes place at Dolby’s Soho Square on Thursday (9 November). Interest from OB providers, senior sound engineers, systems integrators, audio vendors and other stakeholders has combined to make the event – the second of its kind – a ‘sell-out’.

As in 2016, the summit will include a thorough exploration of object-based, immersive and other Next Generation Audio technologies. The opening panel session, Fully Immersed: A Year of Progress in NGA Technologies, will examine developments to have taken place since last year’s summit, while there will also be a special case study from Sky and Dolby about the implementation of Dolby Atmos production for coverage of the current football season.

The technological and economic benefits of remote production audio will also come under the spotlight in a special case study fronted by Lawo as well as a multi-vendor panel session. The day’s proceedings will conclude with a session addressing the current state of IP audio workflow adoption in sports broadcast, networking drinks, and a special screening of the star-studded new version of Murder on the Orient Express.

The full programme – including details and profiles of speakers – can be found here: https://www.svgeurope.org/audio-summit-2017/programme/. Subsequent to the event, the SVG Europe website and newsletter will feature details reports of each key session.

“We are delighted by the response to the Next Generation Audio Summit, and look forward to a day full of lively debate about what is by some distance the most exciting period of transformation for broadcast audio since the shift from analogue to digital got underway,” says SVG Europe Editor David Davies. “Once again, it has been a pleasure to work with Dolby on this event, while I would also like to highlight the support of Clear-Com – which is sponsoring the IP session – and our media partner, Resolution Magazine.”
