Future Sport 2024: Speakers from Formula E, SailGP and DF added to agenda for London event

Melissa Lawton, chief content officer at SailGP

The first speakers have been announced for Future Sport 2024, sponsored by Tata Comms Media and taking place at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London on 23 October.

Matt Samuel, Formula E post‑production manager, will be part of a panel exploring the pros and cons of cloud production now and in the future. This will be followed by Melissa Lawton, SailGP chief content officer, discussing the broadcast and media innovation being deployed on coverage of the upcoming season of the international sailing competition for high-performance F50 foiling catamarans.

In addition, Anders Raden-Rygaard, head of commercial, DF (Divisionsforeningen), will join a panel of experts delving into personalisation, engagement, gamification, immersion, interactivity and other viewing experiences for live sports, sharing their opinions on where we are now, what works and where the industry goes next.

Other sessions will include a forward-looking presentation that will forecast where European sports broadcasting and production will be in 12-18 months’ time, a discussion around artificial intelligence and how/why the industry can and should (or shouldn’t) embrace it across production and distribution and viewing experiences, as well as a look at the tech and editorial innovation at The Championships, Wimbledon.

Attendees will also be able to enjoy a tour of the grounds, courts and the Wimbledon Broadcast Centre, as well as plenty of opportunities for networking.
