
Time is running out to register for FutureSPORT 2024, taking place at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London on 23 October and sponsored by TATA Comms Media. Registration closes on 15 October.
A number of new speakers have recently been added to the agenda, including SailGP, Director of Production Maria Stanley, and Amanda Lawson, Co-Founder of Hang Loose Media. They will take part in ‘Sports Broadcasting in 2024: The Big Debate’, a panel session examining and discussing the issues currently dividing and challenging the industry, from production standards to skills shortages.
Later in the day Anders Raden-Rygaard, DF (Divisionsforeningen), Head of Commercial, and Alan Bruno, ATP Media, Head of Business Development, will be part of a panel looking at personalisation, engagement, gamification, immersion, interactivity and other viewing experiences for live sports, sharing their opinions on where we are now, what works and where the industry goes next.
In addition, Caretta Research will provide a forward-looking presentation that forecasts where European sports broadcasting and production will be in 12-18 months’ time, highlighting the current trends and the direction of travel.
Matt Samuel, Formula E, Post‑Production Manager, and Jonathan Smith, Net Insight, Solution Area Expert Cloud, will be discussing the pros and cons of cloud production now and in the future, before Melissa Lawton, SailGP, Chief Content Officer, details the broadcast and media innovation being deployed on coverage of the upcoming season of the international sailing competition.
In the final session of the day, ‘New Balls Please: Tech and Editorial Innovation at The Championships, Wimbledon’, Wimbledon Broadcast Services and selected rights holders will showcase current and future innovations for coverage of the tennis championships. Speakers include Paul Davies, Associate Director, Broadcast, Production & Media Rights, AELTC, Chris Clements, Digital Products Lead Wimbledon, and Joe Bennett, Creative Director, Digital and Content, Whisper.
