FutureSPORT 2024: Live cloud production – Dispelling some myths

We are now at a point where one set of live cameras can be made available in a cloud environment to almost limitless production teams. This means that rights holders around the globe can cut local versions instead of relying on a single world feed. And the ability to spin off alternative broadcasts and experiences (potentially) becomes much simpler. And it can all be done from a browser window (or similar). But, while it promises much, what is the reality?

At FutureSPORT 2024, held at The All England Lawn Tennis Club on 23 October, a panel of experts discussed the pros and cons of cloud production now and in the future.

Watch as Matt Samuel, Formula E, post‑production manager; Jonathan Smith, Net Insight, solution area expert cloud; Lachlan Smith, EMG / Gravity, cloud production developer; Mike Lethem, Sky Sports, software operations manager, share their insights.
