Job of the Week: Head of Social Manager/Social Media Lead, DFL Digital Sports GmbH

The main task of DFL Digital Sports GmbH is the production of media content. The DFL Digital Sports GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH, and produces and publishes media content via a variety of digital platforms on its behalf. Content production for international markets and the implementation of the league’s own platforms e.g., also belong to the organisation’s core tasks.

The successful candidate will have a strong affinity for social media and viral marketing as well as a fundamental understanding of web-based and mobile technology, enabling them to convey the world of the Bundesliga to an international market and turn interested parties into fans.

Key tasks will include: leading and developing the Bundesliga’s social media team; managing social operations, in order to maximise engagement and growth; overseeing social strategy across the range of existing/new social media platforms; planning, assigning and delivering social content, from daily output to major campaigns; analysing all data sources to define the direction of content across multiple regions; and educating the wider editorial team on social media best practices and trends.
