HBS and NVP take LaLiga production and distribution for first and second division matches on five-year contract

Host Broadcast Services (HBS) and NVP have been selected by LaLiga to deliver media production and distribution for Spain’s Primera and Segunda Division matches for five years from the start of the 2025-26 season. HBS has taken over the contract from Mediapro, which has been LaLiga’s production partner for over 20 years.

HBS was selected by LaLiga to run its MCR and centralised services, as well as operating media for LaLiga EA Sports, and operating media for its second division, also known as LaLiga HyperMotion.

The two entities of HBS and NVP will form a joint venture based in Spain to run operations for the league, bringing their combined expertise and experience to the broadcast coverage of one of the world’s most celebrated football competitions.

Said Dan Miodownik, HBS CEO: “It is a great privilege for HBS to have been appointed by LaLiga. We are very proud of our track record globally, and entering a new territory and partnership with such an esteemed client is an exciting opportunity. Along with NVP we look forward to working with LaLiga to bring innovative and engaging coverage to audiences over the coming years.”

Added Massimo Pintabona, CEO, NVP: “We are extremely proud to partner with HBS on this prestigious project. This achievement confirms our commitment to excellence, continuous development and innovation. We look forward to contributing to the continued success of LaLiga with our expertise and dedication.”

In a statement, Mediapro described the decision as “neither fair nor objective”, adding that it believes that it “may jeopardise the production of the matches at the start of the season. It will undoubtedly harm the clubs and the competition both economically and in broadcast quality.”
